Thank you very much for sharing the info.! I am in the similar situation as your friend. I used AP this summer and continued to work with H1b in the same university who sponsored my H1b. Then I was offered a faculty position in another univ. The lawyer in the new univ. filed my H1b application on Sep 20 and it is still pending. She filed a new H1 petition instead of transfering my H1b though.
