我兒子3月底21歲，大學三年級，現在持有L2簽證，有效期2018年。 2016年7月提交了綠卡申請，到目前為止沒有接到任何通知。 我的問題， 1. 21歲生日後，他如果依然沒有收到綠卡通知，他應該辦理回美證在美國學習還是轉換成F1身份 2. 如果轉換身份，是否意味著原來綠卡申請作廢？ 請指點，謝謝！

-He can not change status to F-1 due to immigrant intent (USCIS will not approve it). But he still can legally stay in US and continue to study because he has the pending I-485 (Adjustment of Status). He does not need to do anything. If he wants to work, he needs to apply for EAD based on pending I-485. If he wants to travel to China, he needs to apply for advance parole (AP). No fee for EAD/AP application.
