Can we renew H1B in US?

After using AP, can we renew H1b in the US? I used AP last month, currently I140 approved, I485 pending, H1b status prior to my traveling. My lawyer (company paid)suggested me applying for both AP/EAD and H1b for the next year. I am doubtful about the H1b renewal in the US.
