-No unless he is caught by police (e.g. he makes any crime). But the consequence of unlawful presence is serious, e.g. he can not get the green card or legal status anymore unless he marries a US citizen.

-No. By the way, you are not his J-1 sponsor, and his J-1 sponsor is your employer.

（他是J1 Researcher，國際辦公室說最多隻能在美國待一年，不能延、不能轉；像他這種，能找個community college之類的轉成 J1 student嗎？謝謝。）

-No. J-1 holder can not change status within US unless he gets J-1 waiver, but he may go to China to get the F-1 visa to come back to study without J-1 waiver.
