Dear Teacher 8,
I would like to go to school in US to continue my education after being a full-time mom for 12 years. But my TOEFL test did not meet the university's requirement, I have to choose learning ESL program instead first. Since a community college is cheaper, I plan to use their I-20 to apply for my F-1 visa. I would like to change status from B2 to F1 within US, but I heard the chance is very low. However, if I go back to China to apply, is there a higher possibility to get F-1 for a middle-aged lady who wants to learn English first in a community college?
-As long as you convince the IO that why you want to continue your study, and you will retrun to China after you complete your study, then it should be fine to get the F-1 visa.
I seriously doubt it. Teacher 8, Can you please advise me which way is better for me to get F1 visa?
-Technically, either way is OK, but it is hard to say which way is better because it is case by case. So, you need to make the decision by yourself.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
