Either way, and you need to make a decision by yourself. But if you stay outside US continuously for more than 6 months, your physical resident continuity may be disrupted, and if more than one year, your resident continuity will be disrupted. If your resident continuity is disrupted, you can not apply for US citizen until you meet the pysical residence requirement again (e.g. at least wait for another five years).
