-Right. He must use AP to travel. He had better renew his AP in advance up to 120 days before the current AP expires. The I-131 for AP renewal application has to be filed when he is physically present in US and has to wait for the AP approved before he leave US. If he has no time to wait, he can go to the local USCIS Office to get the emergency AP instantly there.

另外他用EAD／AP回美國不會對我的H1b有任何影響吧?
