Name check can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few years. FBI has piles of name check cases to process. If you don't contact FBI directly, most likely your file will be sitting on somebody's desk forever. I think you need to send a fax to FBI's name check program at 202-324-3367. It normally takes 10 to 30 days for them to get back to you. Good luck.
