My in-laws have been out of the country for 1.5 year and want to come back to US as PR using green card. Are their green cards still valid after being out of the country for long time? Do they have to get a US visa? 
-Their green card is void and can not use it to enter US. If there was uncontrolled factor such as serious illness to prevent them from return to US on time, they may apply for SB-1 visa. Otherwise, they may just give up the green card in any US Consulate in China and then, apply for B-2 visa to enter US.
