J-1簽證轉身份問題

代友人求問各位能人大神，95年持J－1簽證入美，種種原因未能及時辦理waiver，兒子早已持有綠卡但並未入籍，
求教，是否可以通過兒子來轉變自己的身份。多謝各位。
