H1b renew 需要離境連續的12個月嗎？還是累計的12個月？

以前移民論壇發帖問過，說是累計12個月就可以renew H1b了。 但是最近有律師說要連續的12個月。 如果離境後不到12個月再次入境， 12個月就要重新算起。 真的要連續12個月離境才可以renew H1b 嗎？
我在網上找到這樣一段關於H1b renew的陳述： Once the six year cap is reached, the foreign national must be physically outside the U.S. for one full uninterrupted year in order to “reset” the 6 year clock. 這是連接： http://www.usavisanow.com/h-1b-visa/h1b-visa-resources/h-1b-renewal-extension/
這段陳述用了uninterrupted。到底是累計12個月還是連續12個月啊？
