今天收到移民局來信,信上說:
Chinese notarial certificates are considered to be secondary evidence. One of the following official documents must be submitted in support of the notarial certificates of birth for you and the beneficiary: Birth Certificate, hospital certificate, Family Household Registry, Family Household registry form.
Family Household Registry 是不是戶口本?
-Yes for Mainland Chinese.
萬幸我媽把戶口本帶到了美國。我們是否需要把戶口本原件寄到移民局?他們會把戶口本寄信回來嗎?
-You only need to provide the photocopy of the original 戶口本, not 戶口本原件. But you need to ask your friend to translate it into English and go to the Notary Public (e.g. bank, etc.) to notarize your friend's signature on the translation version. Your friend also needs to write a statement addressing that he/she knows both Chinese and English well and the translation is accurate (also include your friend's contact information in the statement paper). Then, enclose the photocopy of the 戶口本, and the translation version with your response letter (enclose the RFE also) and mail the packet to USCIS address indicated in the RFE.
Both me and my mom do not have birth certificates, we only have notarial certificates of birth.
戶口本上有我和我媽的關係,我和我媽的出生日期,但沒顯示誰是我媽的父母,誰是我的父親。這樣行嗎?
-Yes.
