You need a reason to transfer to B status with USCIS, and it takes > 2 months time to process your COS petition. So you will have a gap > 1 month. If you can not find another job within 1 month, the best option to have a clear immigration history is go back to China, if you want to come back to us again in the future, keep your history clear and clean.
