canada immunigration question

My son is living with my ex-wife in china, I'd like to apply canada immunigration including him. My lawyer in china took care of my divorce case ever said both parties have the custody of the child based on chinese laws, so this wasn't written down in the mediation agreement, just mention my ex-wife grows my son and I pay the growth fee in the mediation agreement. As my situation, what kind of documents I or my ex-wife need to prepare for application. thanks a lot!
In addition, can my son do medical exam in china? thanks again!
