On November 9, 2012 the new regulations of the Immigration Law of Mexico went into effect.
In attention to the high number of inquiries we have received, we would like to inform you that there have been no changes regarding the policy that U.S. citizens or foreign-born nationals who are US lawful permanent residents or have a valid nonimmigrant US visa do not need a visa to visit Mexico for tourism or other unpaid activities.
Nonetheless, we strongly suggest you verify directly with our offices the travel requirements for minors (age 17 or under) that will be entering Mexico without their parents.
Moreover, while we update the information on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us or the nearest Mexican Consulate to your place of residence if you have further questions.
