求助：J-1 scholar轉 J-1student

持“J-1 scholar”簽證來美，現在申請PhD, 請教：
1.如拿到學校PhD offer,想轉j-1 student 是否需去第三國簽證？
2.如轉成j-1 student, 則該身份有效期是否與PhD
program 時間相當(比如五年)？
3.申請PhD的學校與J-1 scholar的學校不同，是否可以，需另外辦什麽手續？
