如果你不在洛杉磯，可以打以下這個電話問問你們那裏哪個部門負責辦理移民需要的police clearance letter。當然，我指的是美國部分的文件。

我母親的指紋也不清楚，所以今年四月份時我上網查到了以上這個資料。由於從沒有收到USCIS的要求提供police clearance letter的通知，所以我們從來沒有去過。而且畢竟是幾個月前的信息了，你如果真的去，一定提前打個電話確認一下，這是不是那個issue移民局所需要的文件的部門。

對了，四月份打電話詢問時，還得到如下信息，供你參考 -

1) applicant has to show up in person.  Otherwise a notarized letter authorizing the representative  to get the document is required

2) if walk in, can get the document same day.  No appointment required

3) $42 required for the document

4) all people in LA who need a police clearance letter for immigration purpose need to go to the following address in Norwalk.  Suite 920 (如果我沒聽錯的話）

5) application by mail takes about 4-5 weeks

6) photo ID and USCIS letter required to get the document
