我爸爸年事已高（78歲），我想讓他來美國看看，現在的情況是，讓他一個人進領事館簽證肯定不行，我是綠卡，能否陪他進領事館簽證？

One possible solution is that you may also file an DS-160 for yourself with your father's DS-160 together, and then make the visa interview appointment together, you can show the appointment notice to the guard to enter the US Consulate together with your father. After that, only your father provide his application materials for the visa application, and you do not need to provide anything fro yourself (equal to your absence). The only thing is that you may also need to pay the visa application fee when you make an appointment online.
