After the father becomes a US citizen, the child will automatically become a US citizen. The child can file N-600 together with the father N-400 or file N-600 after the father becomes a US citizen to get the US citizen certificate. The child also can apply for the US passport directly without filing N-600 after the father becomes a US citizen.
