Have experienced two TN transferal due to change of employer at different boarders. They both asked if I had resigned and my anwers were not yet but I needed to inform them in two (or three) weeks. The officer will give you the new TN dated on the day at border but leave the old TN with you. You must go to the boarder between 2 to 3 weeks of the new employer indicted start date. Once you have both, you may work even longer for the old one and defer the date of the new one.
