So basically, after using AP (but not EAD), I can say my status is either H1B or parolee, correct? And USCIS is OK with that?

My wife has same status as me (she also holds H1B with A, used AP last year, but did not use EAD so far).  We are not sure whether she will be able to find a job in the city B (where B is) in the near future. I believe she can stay legally even she has no job in City B for a while (as she used AP, so technically she is AOS now), correct?
