二位老師好！

我朋友打算給父母申請綠卡，有如下問題請教 -

1）他父親退休前是公務員，黨員。現在已經70多歲，退休13年了。他的這一背景（公務員、黨員）會不會對他的綠卡申請造成影響？

-No, but he needs to write a statement/explanation about the Party membership. (Google to find some sample letter for this subject).

2）申請綠卡時，需要填寫他父親退休前的工作經曆嗎？

-Just need to indicate his last occupation in G-325a. because he has retired for > 5 years, he does not need to report 工作經曆 in G-325A.

3）他父親的綠卡申請如果有問題，會不會延誤他母親的綠卡申請？

-Irrelevant.

4）這種情況，是不是請律師幫忙申請會有些幫助？

-The lawyer only can help you to prepare the documents, no any other impacts.

5）他父母在美國已經有兩個月了，現在可以submit application了嗎？

-Had better wait for additional one to two months or more.

6）提交申請後，多久可以拿到綠卡？

-6 months to one year, case by case.
