8老師，我現在的工作不穩定，合同上寫著老板可以提前24小時通知你走人。我有這樣1問：

The new boss wants me to start early January, but there are a lot of rumors about job cutting within the current institutions. If my job is cut, that will leave one-month gap between my current job and the future job.

如果I-129 form is filed and there is one month gap between the old H1-B and the new H1-B, should I stay at home? Is there any danger if I travel? I planned to visit my family this winter.

 

-Just ask your new employer to file the H1 transfer now and then, you can stay home until January if you are laid off from your current employer before Jan. If you travel outside US during the H1 transfer is pending, you have to wait for the H1 transfer approval outside US (e.g. in China) and then, ask your employer mail the H1 approval notice to you and you use it to apply for the H1 visa to come back.
