provide the copy of your H1 petition receipt with your OPT extension. Your school international student office know how to do it, anyway.

Also, you only can work until September 30, the date of your OPT expiration, unless your H1 will be approved before that date. You can not work on/after Oct. 1 until your OPT extension is approved or H1 is approved, whichever comes first.
