回複：求教各位關於子女在美國高中畢業升大學的身份問題.

孩子今年12年級,就要報大學.

她已經在美國的兩個州讀了兩年多高中了(分別為一年整及一年多,現在繼續她的12年級).

我們還沒有GC,她一直是H4.

我一直沒有弄清楚的是,她進入(或被考慮錄取)大學時的身份是"in stata"

 

還是"foreign student".

-No. "Foreign student" measns F-1, M-1 or J-1 student. H4 is not a "student" from immigration point of view (of course H4 holder can be a student from the school point of view).

聽說這會影響她的錄取機會和上學的費用.

-Your child may be qualifed for in-state tuition if she enroll a school in your state (check it with her school for the qualification). If she enroll a school in another state, she needs to pay the out-state tuition like other US citizen/green card student from other state.

另外她需要考托福嗎?

-No.
