Then, you can not work until the TN transfer is approved. This is different from H1 transfer because h1 transfer applys to H1 portability rule, and TN transfer has no such rule benefit. You had better go to US-Canada border to get the new TN I-94 under the new employer sponsor so that you can work immediately after you come back.
