Many thanks for your information. But I am confused about your case. You said you had an advance parole (AP). Does it mean that you have a greencard or in applying for a greencard? I have recently changed J1 to H1B, and am thinking to have a visa stamp on my passport. It seems that you could go to Maxico for the visa stamp, and come back to the US waiting for the security check. Is this because you had the advance parole? I do not have the AP. If you go to Maxico and the VO could not give me the visa stamp immediately, e.g. due to security check, then I will have to stay there waiting for an approval of the security check???
The US visa system is the most complicated one in the world!!!
Many thanks and good luck for your wife!!
