請教pjiang和別的專家關於I-539的問題

請問pjiang和別的專家 -

我現在H-1B快要到期了. 我想 file I-539 轉成 B-2, 原因是想停留6個月旅行並探親訪友. 請問我需要單獨附一封信說明原因嗎?  I-539 並沒有要求說明具體原因.
