The people at the international office at my school said they could mail the application for me and strongly recommend me using their address for c/o. But I am not planning on moving back to school anytime soon.
If they submit the application on my behalf, do i get a better chance for approval than doing it on my own?
-Don't think it will make difference. But if you change your status to F-1, then it may be better for the school to file it for you because they know the procedure well. Also this will be sure the school can receive the approval notice if you move during the application pending (e.g. you want to study before the F1 application is approved).
I just think I can do it by myself and don't want to take the extra step to mail materials back and forth to my school.
