My I-485 got approved last Oct. But I haven't received card yet.I did service request at the end of December and got an emial: the service center is waitting for your finger print. But I don't the appointment letter.
-Ask USCIS to send you the biometric appointment notice again eitthe by calling or visit local office.
The letter also siad that I may need to wait for 60 days. I got the same letter last Oct. before my case got approved. I went to the local office and they told me there is nothing they can do except waitting. My lawre said the same thing. I am worried that if I do another service request in March , they will give me the same email that I need to wait for another 60 days. My EAD will be expired in May.
-The EAD is invalid since the I-485 was approved, but it does not matter to you to work continually as long as your employer does not care. You are legal to work even if you do not receive the green card yet, but some employer may not allow you to work because you do not show them your green card.
If I couldn't have my Green Card, can I work or I have to have the phicial card with me?
-Bring your passport and your I-485 approval notice to the USCIS lcoal office to get the I-551 stamp (green card stamp) on your passport and then, use that stamp to work and travel to China. Tell the IO that you did not get the biometric notice and of course, did not get the green card. Since your I-485 was approved, you need the green card stamp to work immedaitely.
