Have you been China after you finished your H1 job? If yes and you got the H4 visa to reenter US, you do not need any H1 approval notice and H1 I-94. Otherwise, you may wait for the lawyer to find the approval notice for you or find the receipt# for you to print out the online status .

If you send the I-485 without this document, USCIS will send you RFE later and you can provide it at that time. Up to you.
