   My i485 has been pending for 9 months, i checked with USCIS that the background investigation is still open,

 

then i check with FBI that my biometric based information check is finished and back to uscis already.

-This check is fast and only take several hours to several days.

I am confused of this. What kind of checks uscis need for the i485 processing.

 Background check and name check are same? 

-Name check is the part of the background check. Name check normally take long time and in some cases, may take several years, but most cases normally take several month to one year.

Also what should i need to do now?

-Nothing you can do, but wait.
