The citizenship law of US was not made by the Chinese Gov and hence there is no point to listen to what they said about the kid's US citizenship status.Keep the kid's birth certificate and his/her passport. As long as the passport is still valid when he/she is traveling to US, there shall be no hassels for him/her entering the country. Even if it is expired after a few years living in China, he/she shall be issued a new passport from a US Consulate General in China by providing all the necessary documents.
