Thanks for all your reply. The reason why I like to fight is that I was given wrong information by the first call. If I know the cost, I could choose local office doctor which would charge less than $100 and can also get antibiotic prescription.  At the first phone call, I told the hospital person very clearly that my mother was visiting us and had no insurance. Later on, after I found out the truth after the visiting, I called the hospital and complained about it. One of the person said you can pay whatever you could aford. Just wonder if anybody had similar experience like me and how did you handle it?
