Extend H1 after 6 years

My H1 visa will expire in Oct. 2005 and I'm waiting for my Green Card on F2B quota(family sponsored).

The current F2B quota cutoff date is 7/1/95 and my date is 12/30/96, and for sure I'm not going to get GC before my H1 expires.

Is there anything that I can do to extend my H1? If not, I can change to F1 for a while. Can I apply for H1 again if I find a job after sometime?
