You are wrong!There is a tricky case, don't trust the agent.They maybe not know anything about your status now and future.Or they cheat you if you pay for some money to them.Actually you are ONLY one visa in America: F-1(MUST registering classes) or H-1(MUST having payroll when approving).If you don't obey the rule, you lose your status immediately, no delay and pardon!!!I had the similar experience but hold the payrolls for some time.By the way your family members should be the same siuation with you.So if you are H-1, they must be H-4 with you in the same time.No delay time to change their visas.Otherwise they lose status too.If possiblem,please consult the chinese attoney then you know what's big problem you will meet in the future
