-If you leave US to get the new TN to come back, you can not work for the old employewr anymore because when you leave US, your old TN is invalid unless you get the new I-94 with the old TN paper-work.
The principle is that you have to have the I-94 from the specific TN to work for the specific employer and youc an have several TN I-94s from several employer at the same time (you can, but you do not need to work for all these employer at the same time).
