go to your senator or congressman

My coworker, an indian, whose green card was approved on June 7th, but he was not able to get his green card. He has called INS (opened service request) and went to infopass, but nothing worked. His lawyer has talked to INS several times, they always told him to wait for 60 days. Finally he sent a letter to the local congressman last week, he got phone call from the congressman office the same day afternoon to let him send as much document as he could and the second day his online status become card in production. The point is if you get a problem and seem hard to solve. Call or email your congressman or senator, who should be able to help you in a very efficient way.
