1. The commonly-used Chinese term: 申請綠卡 has many stages. If you have filed I-485, you can not get or renew TN. But if you are in LC, I-130 or I-140 stage, Canadian citizens can still get TN.
2. As a non-Canadian citizen wants to work in US, your wife must go through H1/L1/O1/P1/Q1/E1,... depending on her qualification, OR has a basis to file EAD, as anyone else needs to.
