Dear Congressman:

My name is XXX. I would like to bring it to your attention that my I-485 Petition to Adjust Status (to obtain permanent residency in the U.S.) is still pending at the Nebraska Service Center of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  Almost 5 years have passed since I submitted the petition on July 2, 2007. The processing time frame for Nebraska Service Center for this type of case is 4 months as indicated in the USCIS website, so my case is seriously delayed.

 

During the last 5 years, XX I-765 and XX I-131applications have been filed in order for me to work and travel abroad legally. The delay causes lots of inconvenience of my daily life and might indirectly assist other real dangerous people since they might take the advantage of lengthy delay to lawfully stay here, which  often worries me a lot. There is always an uncertainty about the future; it impacts lots of my decisions on career development, investment and so many other things.
