-That is between you and your employer. If you want to work for 40 hr/wk and the employer agrees to pay you based on 40hr salary, that is fine. If don't pay you that much, you may just work for 20 hr/wk or work 40 hr/wk and get 20 hr pay if you agree (volunteerly). But based on immigration law, you can only work for 20 hr/wk unless your employer file an H1 amendment. Of course practically, if this job working time change is just for a short term, your employer may not need to do anything because USCIS probably will not do on-site H1 inspection in your case.

If I am a full-time employee, I can work 60 hours per week and get OT compensation for 20 hrs OT
