research associate, 聽起來比postdoc象永久職位.可是我們係(或者院裏)去年新規定,每次延期H1都隻出具一年的appointment.是對所有的staff的(包括美國人). 這樣一來我是不是就不能填永久職位了?

-It does not matter for I-140. But for I-485, the position has to be "permanent". The definition of permanent job for USCIS/immigration is that this position has no specific term and it can be renewable. So, if your research associate position can be renewed (you has expectation to cntinue your job), your job can be considered "permanent".

再說了,有幾個能是永久職位呢?在拿到tenure之前,連associate professor 都不是永久性的.

我該怎麽填?

還有推薦人的C.V.每個人都是50頁.光是他們的cv都要300頁,不好裝訂啊,真的有必要都弄上嗎?

-Two to three pages is enough (not need to including a lot of publication lists). If the recommendation letter has introduction of the reference background, you even do not need to provide the reference C.V.
