You may just go to the local city attorney to see whether your ciminal case can be dropped as the lawyer suggested. if it can be dropped, then you can file I-129B MTR. If no, you may hire a lawyer to go to the immigration court. If immigration case denial is based on the applicant ciminal, it is somewhat complicate and thus, you have to hire a professional lawyer to help you out.
