我的前任雇主2008裁員時沒有取消我的H-1B (valid till 9/13/2011)

因為是裁員，給了一些福利，象什麽輔助找工課程,不注銷H-1B,等等，這個H-1B還有用嗎？It is still valid. Can I use it to do H-1B transfer? (One of my lawyer said yes)
