The IPO officer sent wrongly my name among a list of "not working now" so my H-1B is inactive (while I have been actively working as a slave since 2009 ...)

"When I looked for your file, it was inactive. Because of a glitch in the
people soft system your H was retracted with USCIS in August 2010...."

What kind of mistake is this?!

-it means your H1 was withdrawn. You may ask HR to call USCIS about this case status (withdrawal or still valid), just to verify it.
