-Immigraion visa has no multiple entries. Your family have to enter US before the visa expires. After they enter US using the immigration visa, they will get the lawful permanent residency (green card stamp on the passport) immediately at the port of entry, and the physical green card will be mailed to them in about one month. They can travel to China using the green card stamp before they get the physical green card.
