-I think he may just give up the green card. If you can get the US citizenship, it is very easy for him to get the green card again before he turns 21 years. If you can not get the US citizen, you still can sponsor his green card as the green card holder as long as you keep your green card valid though it may take five or more years (you can file I-130 earlier after he gives up the green card).
