Cancel the check and ask the lawyer to return the money order to you. Then, file a new I-485. I think probably the lawyer might have sent your application to the wrong address. USCIS changed the I-485 filing address several times already, and you need to check the latest I-485 instruction on USCIS website to find the correct filing address.
