It's OK to work till the date your OPT expire. After that, you need to stay home to wait for H1B approval. If you are not familiar with H1B petition, maybe you should hire a lawyer to do that for you. The form is I129, can be found on USCIS website. But you need more than I129 for your petition. If your H1B is not under cap, it's OK to file in Nov. But if you need a quota, the 2005 quota is all gone now then you need to figure out something else fast.
