Write a letter to USCIS to request it and enclose a copy of the previous G-28. Also tell the lawyer about that and thus, the lawyer also needs to inform USCIS.
However, the lawyer still has the responsibilities to inform you and forward the correspondences to you if he/she receives any correspodences from USCIS about your case even if after you terminate his/her service.
